Q: How do I export a ProRes422 Split Audio Master from FCPX 10.2.3?

I've got to deliver some ProRes422 split audio masters to a client, the audio requirements are in the attached image.

I know with FCPX I can assign roles and choose "Roles as Multitrack Quicktime Movie", but I'm not sure how to make these specific tracks, Stereo L and Stereo R in particular. Also, some of my projects don't have dialogue but the client wants all 4 channels regardless of content, so in those cases I'd need an empty Channel 3. I have a feeling I'm somehow over complicating this basic client request, but if anyone knows how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Jim

Assign roles to clips to match the desired channels. Marc Bach shows us how here:

For the empty channels, I suppose you can add and assign silent clips as placeholders.

Fantastic, exactly what I needed, thank you for the link!

Exported a full stereo mix of the final project, pulled it back in, set the pan mode to stereo l/r, expanded it in the timeline, panned channels left to left and right to right. Assigned left to a stereo left role and right to a stereo right role. Also put a project long silent clip as a placeholder, assigned it as dialogue so I could have the empty track on those projects that needed one. All worked great!
