sound output: Optical digital-out port (no sound!!) macbook pro retina 15 mid 2015

My recently new Mbpr 15inch has suddenly lost its sound, i have gone through the process of the toothpick etc but nothing. It worked perfectly fine earlier today but i put in a AUX mini jack in the headphone port and after realising 30 mins later and taking out the AUX cable i didn't have sound, i then had the red light coming out of the headphone port but now its not coming up red, and in the sound settings in system preferences its stuck on 'Optical digital-out port'.

I have to now wait a week to wait till i can get seen at my closet apple store, I have projects coming up and in middle of prejects and really relying on this Mbp to be working, i literally only had a it less than two months surly i should not be having any problems. So if anyone knows any thing i would appreciate it alot! i need the help to get this resolve asap! the latest post i seen about this was in 2006 - 2012 no new threads on this recently!
