I was wondering if you only pay once for final cut pro x. I'm asking because of the price. I just wanted to make sure before buying.

In addition, for that one price you can install as many copies as you want on all the computers that you own . . . as long as you are not a pro studio with a team of editors.
You also get free updates and up to now we have also got free major updates which had to be paid for with the old FCP versions 1 to 7.
Basically you pay for it once and never have to pay another penny ever again . . . unless at some future date Apple changes its policy!
There is no serial number to lose or forget, so if your computer should crash or be stolen (and you haven't made a backup copy) you simply download the app again from the App Store completely free of charge.
