Toshiba 6100 Satellite Pro, Windows 2000 and Itunes 7.0.1

I downloaded version 7.0.1 of Itunes and my CD Drive disappeared. I then spoke to my PC Support guys and they explained that he filters with in regedit needed deleting which I did.

My Itunes works OK but there is an error message regarding the "burning software".

Will reloading Itunes cause me the same problem as to be able to import CDs I need the CD Drive working.

Also my Podcasts aren't showing in my main directory - is this linked?

doublechecking something before we proceed. is that the following message?

"Warning! The registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."

🙂 it's okay.

what happened here was that when you deleted the device filters in regedit, it also removed the filter entries that iTunes uses for importing and burning.

now that you've cleared everything away in the filter entries, there's nothing left for the iTunes filters to be in conflict with. so, we'll just try doing a "reboot and repair" to get them back for you.

reboot the PC (very important), and then do a repair install of iTunes. in Add/Remove, select itunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".

if the repair install goes through properly, do you still get the message when you try launching itunes?
