Q: Trouble Texting After IOS Update

My wife and I share the same iphone account.  Last night my wife updated her iphone 6 to the new ios 9.3.2.  After the update, when she sends a text message, the messages say they are coming from my phone and not hers.  What can we do to fix the problem.  Thanks

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.2

This happens because you're sharing the same apple id for message and probably facetime.

Use this link to remove the apple id from her phone Add or remove your phone number to iMessage or FaceTime on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

She should get her own apple id, but you can still use http://www.apple.com/icloud/family-sharing/   Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support to share apps and music.

The link you gave me is to add/remove number from mac, ipad and itouch, not iphone.  Would the instructions be the same as ipod?  If not, are there instrctructions for iphone?  Why has this never happened before?  Thanks for your response BTW.

You never mention anything about an ipod in your original post.

I don't own an ipod, but I assume the settings would be the same.  Just take a look under message and you should be able to remove the apple id.

No I don't have an ipod.  The link you sent me to solve my problem is not for the iphone, it's for mac, ipad, ipod, and itouch.  So the link you sent me doesn't help at all because my issue is with my iphone, and the instructions you sent me are for mac, ipad, ipod, and itouch.  So I was asking since the instructions that you sent me don't include how to fix an iphone, would the instructions on how to fix a ipod apply to the iphone.

Yes it is the same path for an iPhone as well.

settings - message - send and receive.
