Q: Imessage Crashes

When trying to read an old message from 7 months back the Imessage app crashes once I go back 5 months. Then I have to the the whole thing again but once I get to that 5 month period it crashes again. Any recommendations? Help please?

How much space is available on the phone?
Also - if you can recollect a word or two used in the conversation - try to use search by swiping down on the iMessage home screen

I Have 42GB left and it doesn't search that far back when I type a specific word.

The backup of the messages may be corrupted - the only option is to restore from an earlier backup and then search to see if you can retrieve those messages
However doing that - will cause you to lose content between the dates of the back up and the restore
