Q: iOS 9 notification glitch (on lock screen)

As far as I know this is happening only on one app of mine.

It's called QQ and it's a Chinese wide known instant messaging app.

 

I'm running 9.3.2 on a 5s.

 

The notification setting for this app is "all on", lock screen, badge, sound etc.

When I receive a notification on lock screen, the sound's like two tritones but the second one is blocking the first one's sound and what I hear is "d-"+"tritone".

But this is not the problem yet!

When the screen goes dark, i hear a continuos "d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d" until I press home or power to light the screen up.. without unlocking the phone, when the screen is turned off again, the strange sound comes back!

This thing scared the **** out of me while I was doing the washing up lol..

 

I haven't updated anything lately so I don't know why this is happening all of a sudden..

If I set the flag not to show notification on lock screen or don't play the notification sound I would cover the problem but won't solve it..

So, how could I solve this problem?

    Greetings CaptainLu,

     

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are getting some odd audio notifications on your iPhone 5s' lock screen related to the QQ app. I know that I rely on app notifications every day, so I'll do everything I can to help you get this figured out.

     

    To start, let's have you force close the QQ app on your iPhone, and then restart your device. After it is back on, test out whether the notification behavior has changed. Here are a couple of articles for both those steps:

    If the issue still persists, go ahead and delete the QQ app and then reinstall it. Once it's reinstalled, enable notifications and test it out.

     

    The next step would be to reset the settings on your phone. This will not delete any of your personal data, like photos, apps, etc. You will need to set up some of your user-specific settings again (e.g. wallpaper, ringtones). It will also remove your Wi-Fi/network settings, so be sure you have your Wi-Fi login credentials available. To perform the reset, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Once your phone is back up and running, test out the QQ notifications.

     

    Finally, create a backup of your device using either iCloud or iTunes. After the backup is done, restore your iPhone to factory settings and install only the QQ app. Test to see if the notifications still behave in the same manner. If so, that would indicate the issue is with the QQ app itself. If the behavior is normal, that would indicate there was an issue within the iOS software or your user data.
