Dock connector as default

Hey guys. I have an iPad 3 running iOS 9.3.2. The For some reason I'm not getting any video or music audio from my iPad. Under my AirPlay options it says "dock connector" instead of speaker. I do not own a dock connector. The guy at the Genius Bar discovered water damage to the pin connection. We tried a full restore of the iPad and still no sound. But like I said this only happens when attempting to Listen to music or watch videos. Im able to FaceTime without issue, I can hear the keyboard clocks as i type this message, and I can hear the sounds of my ringtones. So please help.
