Final Cut Pro - loudness (EBU r128)

Currentl, I'm working for a good "Loudness" EBU-r128-standard balanced project in Final Cut Pro. I was surprised that I was not able to find audio-meters for checking and/or tools for balancing / normalizing the loudness.

Any tipps?

I know: just the fact that I was not able to find it is not and indicator for "it's not there". But if it's not there, why is it titled 'final' cut?

Where can I suggest this important feature to Apple?

hmm, this is a very special feature, I dare to say is for 90% of FCPX users not important. 😉

And it's a concept of FCPX to offer the 'main basics', but to stay open for add-ons/plugins.

It is important for all.

On TV, most of the channels are using balanced loudness threw all programs - and yes - the consumer does not need to do anything. But squillions of users are playing with the volume-key to match their individual needed loudness after getting a new YouTube video on screen. you'll see, it is much more important than some might have thought before.

On the first hand, technic behind of it is surely confusing, on the other hand, some wheels, some switches / limiters are already existing... why not loudness-meters with presets for balanced audio-snippets and on-the-fly recalculation (the same as other audio-filters still do in FCPX)? Can you imagine that a multidimensional filter (created with Motion) might help? I've never used Motion before, but it seems to be that Motion can also provide individual filters for FCPX.

bye 🙂

I'm just thinking about all the audience... from people with special needs to individuals which are able to switch every time... your figure is interesting, I'll also ask Apple and Google for statistics about it. Maybe this will bring some new features 😀 ... and who knows, maybe they decide to balance it automatically to avoid range clippings in future 😀 ... have a nice weekend,
