Language switch keyboard shortcut El Capitan doesn't work

Hello all!

Just bought my new macbook air and cannot figure out how to change language from keyboard. I have installed 2 languages that work properly but every time I want to switch, I go to the menu bar, beside the battery and change it manually. The problem is that neither "command and options" work nor "command and space" or "options command and space". And I cannot understand how to use system preferences input sources to configure the language change keyboard shortcut. Could anyone help?

Thank you!

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5), null

In El Capitan this shortcut was changed to Control plus Space. You can always set it to what you want in system prefs/keyboard/shortcuts.
