cannot open doc or docx files

Since last OS X update cannot open doc or docx files. What is the solution? Thanks, Harry

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

You can right-click on a doc or docx document and open it in any version of Pages, Preview, TextEdit, or LibreOffice.
