Q: Internet speed is slower than others on the same network

Hi,

I have a macbook pro 13 inch with X El Capitan OS, processor 2.7 GHz Intel Core i6, Memory 8GB 1867 MHz DDR3.

When I'm downloading and surfing the internet i have noticed that my connection is much slower than other mac book pros which have the same internet connection (my brother also has the same laptop).

So far i have tried scanning using avira anti virus and nothing has changed. i have also tried deleting all apps that i don't use and freed up some space on my hard drive.

Does anyone have a solution to speed up the connection.
