Q: iTunes not completely syncing

What is happening is that when it is syncing the music it starts, syncs a certain amount then just stops as if it had finished. I have a iPhone 4S and am running windows 10. I have the latest iTunes update and the iPhone is updated. . I've reset the iPhone, restarted both application and device and tried a different port and still not syncing.

iPhone 4S, Windows 10

    Hello agentkibble,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important being able to sync your iPhone with iTunes on your computer is to you.

If I understand correctly, you are unable to finish the sync process, and it just hangs at a certain point. Since restarting your devices and other troubleshooting steps you have tried have not helped, here is where I would start next:

    1. First, uncheck the box to Sync Music in iTunes to your iPhone. Then click Apply in the lower right to apply the changes. If that sync finishes, move on to the next step. If not, jump to the “Resolve USB-related alerts in iTunes” at the bottom of this post.

    2. If the sync finishes with no music syncing, then something in the music files is causing the sync to not finish, and usually a corrupt or missing file. The problem is most times the only way to narrow down is to start by syncing a song or 2, and then testing with more and more music until you find the problem files. This can be time consuming

If you're still not able to resolve this syncing issue, I would make sure to follow all steps that apply from this Apple help article:

    Cheers.

I did try unchecking music and letting it sync (It finishes normally) then retrying to sync music. When syncing the music, there was a file that couldn't be synced and it did pop a warning that said it was unsupported, but the issue is that it continues to sync after I acknowledge it but stops after a certain amount of files and just acts like it finished. It is not an issue with a corrupted file because I did get the music to finally all sync onto the phone. I had to go in and check selected artists and then fill empty space with songs and that got it to sync my songs.

Thanks for that follow up, that info really helped.

The good news are, you were able to sync your music by manually selecting artists, songs, ect. After reading both your responses, it sounds like you're having the syncing issue when applying the Autofill feature.

In order to keep troubleshooting the Autofill feature, make sure your iTunes is up to date, as well as restart your computer.

If issue persists then try reinstalling iTunes. Here are the related Apple knowledge base articles:
