Recently I bought a new iphone in Australia. When I go back to India if any damage happens to my Iphone will the same warranty provided in Australia will be valid or do i need to go for specific international warranty for this ?

You will need to check, but in most instances, Apple only offers the iPhone warranty for the country the device was purchased in.

There is no international warranty as far as I know.
There are ONLY Apple Authorized Service Providers in India (until Apple formally opens Stores there - schedule unknown)
There are many stories here in ASC of AASPs only servicing products that they personally sell.
I would not have high expectations in India.
