Q: Time capsule

i would like to purchase a time capsule and use it as a remote drive for work docs  i need to give secure access for other people so we can all access and edit files

is this possible? and if not any suggestions?

we will be using my Mac, iPad and iPhone to access this.

i have a seagate Nas at the moment but it does not like the pages and numbers format

will i also be able to extend my iCloud with this?

thanks

File / folder level security on the Time Capsule or attached USB drives is limited. At best, you would use the "With accounts" option to share the TC's drive. However, even with this option, you will not be able to set permissions individually on folders or files on the disk, nor set permissions differently for different partitions or different disks. This is where a dedicated NAS would be a better solution.

... and all that is with local access. Attempting remote access will introduce another set of complications.

Not sure what you mean by "extend my iCloud." If you are referring to iCloud Drive, then the answer is no, at least not directly. However, iCloud Drive may be the solution you are looking for as you can share files between Macs, iOS devices, and Windows PCs. Apple provides you with 15 GB of storage with an iCloud account. You can get up to 1 TB at an additional cost. For additional information, check out this Apple iCloud Support link.
