Q: Flash installer malfunctioning

When i try to install the latest flash release it just stays stopped in the dock after double-clicking the install icon. What can that be?

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

    If I understand correctly, you are unable to install the latest version of Flash.  Keeping Flash up to date is very important to keep your computer secure.

     

    You want to be sure that you are only downloading Flash from the Adobe download site.  Download Flash from this link:

    Adobe Flash Player

     

    One of the system requirements for the latest version of Flash is that you be running the latest version of Safari.  If you are not currently running the latest version of OS X and Safari, I would recommend updating both.  Of course, before updating, be sure to back up your computer.  Your computer has software on it called Time Machine.  It is fantastic software for backing up your computer.  Information on how to use Time Machine is available here:

    Once you have the backup, you can update the OS X to El Capitan. It is a free update.  Follow these instructions to complete the update:

    Upgrade to OS X El Capitan
