In faces only some photos

Hi

In the main body there are only some faces showing in the rings and when I right click on them I can get all the info about them. Also in the line under the main body there are some photos and it looks like some are missing because there are gaps between photos.

Doyou mean there are gaps in the Faces strip and among the Faces tiles with white thumbnails? Then try to repair your Photos Library as described on this Help page: Repair your library - Photos Help

Important: You should back up your photo library before repairing your library.

  • If Photos is open, choose Photos > Quit Photos.
  • Press Option-Command and double-click the Photos icon in the Applications folder (or click the Photos icon in the Dock). The Repair Library window opens.
  • Click Repair to rebuild your photo library.

The problem with the missing "Hidden Photos" album may be related to a library corruption as well.

If you are using iCloud Photo Library repairing the library will start to upload it again.

If I double click on an empty circle then photo takes me to a number of photos about that person and when I make it a key photo then it shows in the circle.

Then try to fix the empty circles this. Way. It is a bit laborious, but Photos has no other repair tools then the one you already tried.

Have you updated to the latest version of Photos in OS X 10.11.5? I have seen the empty faces circles only in the Yosemite versions of Photos.

Yes Os is 10.11.5. Also is there anyway to get photo to rename faces?

I am not sgure if I understand your question. You can change the name of any person by typing a different name into the name field below the faces thumbnail of the person's faces album and nerge two faces albums this way.

Or, if you have "Show Faces" enabled in the View menu, you can change the name of a particular person by typing a different name into the name field on the enlarged photo.

The new name must differ in more than the case of the letters. If you want to change a letter from lower case to upper case, change the name first to a completely different name, and then change it back to the different case.
