How do I stop images being added to Google Drive?

I have a show setup in Keynote that I use as a template and regularly change some details for each client meeting and then use "Save us" and name the new presentation in the name of the client. The problem though is that everytime I do this every image in the presentation (of which there are around 100) are saved to my Google Photos folder and this gets pretty annoying as every time I have to delete all these duplicate images. is there a way of preventing this?

I've looked in the preferences on Keynote, on Google Drive and on Google Photo but can't see where/how to stop this from happening?
