Q: Secondary hard drive keeps corrupting.

I have installed an SSD in my mac mini, which is split 60GB for Mac OS and 60GB for a bootcamp partition of Windows 10. I also have the Mac's original 1TB hard drive which I formatted exFAT so that I can use it as a shared data drive between both operating systems. In Mac OS the secondary 1TB drive works fine, but as soon as I try to access it in Windows it fails - corrupting the drive in Mac too.

The first time this happened, I used disk utility to perform a first aid check on the drive and it said the drive was unrecoverable so should be formatted again. The drive was back in operation until I booted back into Windows at which point it has become inaccessible again.

I'm not sure with how to proceed, I can't find any information online other than the suggestion the drive is dead. I doubt this is the case however because the mac isn't too old.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have access to external drives, USB sticks, my own personal Macbook Air, and Windows PC's.

Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
