Q: can I upgrade to captain from Maverix 10.9.5

hi

I have installed in my mac maverix 10.9.5 and I want to install captin but I don't know if there will be a problem because i haven't installed the version Yosemite. Will there be a problem if I don't install yosemite and if yes were can i download it?
