Q: Changing file names of photos used in Final cut express projects

HI, I have A lot of photos that I have used in some final cut express HD projects. 

The file names are not descriptive, but just standard camera file name convention. I want to add descriptive names, that will be apparent in the finder, but I don't want to damage the projects I've created. I suppose I could change one by one and tell the system where to find each file. But is there a better way? Thanks!!

    If you change names in the Finder all the clips in your Projects will loose the file path and you will have to re-link.

    Changing names within FCE will work OK but will not be reflected in the Finder, most likely this will not work for you.

    I'd suggest setting the Browser to display a thumbnail clip of the photo, this may be a solution to identify clips readily.
