Q: getting al photos from old Mac Pro to new IMac

I am getting a new MAC and want to make sure that I can copy all photos from this computer. The old MAc Pro is running mac 10.0.6.8 and Iphoto 6.0.6. I am confused or just don't know enough about MAC's. are all the photos automatically collected in Iphoto on MAC OS?

If there is a way to easily just move everything off of this Old computer onto the new Imac that would also be good

The Migration Assistant might work for you >  Move your content to a new Mac - Apple Support

Migration Assistant app is located in HD > Applications > Utilities

Migration assistant is not great with iPhoto Libraries.

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:

Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...

But however you do choose to link the two machines...

Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.

    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.

This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
