Q: Calendar Dock icon does not show current date after latest iTunes update

Ever since I installed the latest iTunes update, the Dock icon for Calendar app is stuck on 17, and only shows the current date if I open Calendar.  Before this iTunes update, the dock icon ALWAYS showed the current date.

Running 10.8.5, MacBook Pro 9,1

I verified this by re-installing the OS, and then re-installing the latest iTunes.  Before I re-installed the iTunes, the Calendar dock icon was current.  Once I opened the new iTunes, the Calendar dock icon reverted to showing the 17th.

I have searched the forums, and there does not seem to have ever been a satisfying answer to this problem.

Has anyone come up with ANYTHING that would fix this?

What date is set as Today if you open the Calendar application? If the application is correct, the Dock alias may be corrupt. Quit Calendar, control - click the Dock alias, then Options, and uncheck Keep in Dock. Reopen Calendar. If the date is correct in the Dock alias, control - click, then Options, and check Keep in Dock.
