iBooks

Q: How can I get my books back?

I had iCloud Drive turned on and uploaded all my books to iCloud. They (the books) are from different sources than iBook Store. I accidentally turned off the iCloud Drive and in a sudden, all my books are gone. How can I get them back? I have no PC nor Mac in my home.

    This is right now a huge problem if you read other questions on this forum - non-Apple books do not download from iClouds to Apple devices. I have the same problem.

     

    Is there a solution to this? No. Is there a solution on the way? No, it does not look like that.

    I'm not sure what your expectation is here. You turned off / deleted the only location that had your files. Of course the files are gone.

     

    If these files were purchases, you should be able to re-download them for free. If they're from iBooks Store, log in using the same Apple ID used to originally buy them, navigate to the Purchases section of the store, then re-download them.

    But they're still there, in iCloud. In Documents & Data, I see iBook section with 2.4GB and all my books are in there. Can I connect to iTune to download them?

    iTunes and iClouds are not the same. The books that show up on my iTunes are only the books bought from Apple. Can you see the non-Apple books on  your iTunes when you connect?
