IS there a size diffence in the body of a MacBook Pro 13 inch with and without retina display? I notice when shopping for a laptop cover, the discription only mentions the retina version. Mine if just prior to retina. Help?

They should be very similar in size although today there is no non-Retina MBP. You can simply go to Apple support and look up the specs: support.apple.com/specs.
2012 is the last year there was a non-Retina MBP - Model ID 9,2:

The Late-2012 was a Retina model with ID 10,2:

Obviously, these two are not the same size.

The version without a Retina display is a bit bigger, about 2 cm. Because the Retina version has thinner bezel around display.
