How do you Zip a very large Power Point file in order to email it?

MacBook Pro, iOS 9.3.2

Select the .ppt file. CTRL- or RIGHT-click and select Compress .... from the context menu. There is no assurance that zipping the file will reduce its size enough for your needs. In this case you will need a third-party utility that can split the archive into multiple parts such that you can send each part in separate emails. Notify the recipient what utility you used so they can get it to reassemble the parts into the full-sized file.

Depending on the size of the file and how the email client or server handles

ones of size (if there is a ceiling, etc) you may consider the use of a file host

site to upload the file to and then supply a link to that site file URL. Then the

other party to this can visit and download the file.


There are several examples; one I found that appears OK:

Also, there's dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/


Some files cannot be divided and reassembled, so this is an idea if other ones

are not credible or viable. Hopeful the action is a success, however the means.
