Q: App crashing or being flushed from memory?
I have a few apps on my Apple Watch I use for remote control of my IR devices around the house. They work great for the most part with one exception. I changed the default wrist raise behavior to show the last used app vs. the clock face so I don't constantly have to keep relaunching the app. That said, I've noticed that every once and a while, the app wil close and return to the watch face without any interaction on my part. Sometimes it happens while it's loaded and idle and other times upon raising my wrist. When this happens and I reload the app, it doesn't remember where I left off in the app almost as though it's been flushed from memory. Keep in mind that this isn't the only app that behaves this way.
Thanks!

Hi
If you have not yet done so, it may help to update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software, starting with your iPhone:
- Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
- Update the software on your Apple Watch - Apple Support
Also check for and install any available updates for the apps on your watch (on your iPhone, go to: App Store > Updates).
The following steps may also help:
- Uninstall and reinstall the affected apps on your watch:
- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > tap on the app name in the list > turn off Show App on Apple Watch > pause for a few moments > turn it back on again.
- Restart both your iPhone and watch, turning both off together and then restarting your iPhone first:
- Unpair and re-pair your watch.
- The Watch app on your iPhone takes a backup of your watch when unpairing via the app. Choose to Restore from Backup during set up. Most data and settings will be restored, with some exceptions (eg Apple Pay cards, passcode).
- Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone - Apple Support
- Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support
- Consult the developer support resources and/or contact the developers of the affected third-party apps.
