Q: Iphone SE Issues

Hi all,

I've just upgraded to an Iphone SE and have installed the latest IOS (9.3.2)

Im having a couple of issues which i hope someone can help me fix

  • When forwarding on a link to a webpage (either from an app or from a page in safari) using the square with the up arrow (not sure if that has a technical name!), I'm selecting the message symbol to send the link via SMS..  The link appears in the text of the message but i cant see the top line to add the recipient / the blank "TO:" line.  It appears that some links that are lengthy are taking up the screen and pushing the TO: line under the heading "New Message". Is there some setting i need to set for the "TO:" line to be locked so it doesnt disappear ..?
  • Safari seems to freeze when searching
  • When on a call, safari and apps wont work / they freeze up

My previous Iphone was 4 and these all worked without issues...

Any help to fix the above would be much appreciated

Thanks!

(apologies if these issues have been asked before - Im newbie)

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, -AppleUser-.

If I’m understanding you right, you're having several issues with your iPhone SE: long links cover up the "To" field when forwarding them from a website, doing searches in Safari causes the app to freeze, and several apps, including Safari, freeze when you try to open them while on a call. I know when I get a new phone, I reach out for help if it's not working as expected so I can understand why you did the same.

There aren't any settings you can change in your new iPhone so that the "To" field doesn't disappear when forwarding long links. The reason why is because the "To" field disappearing isn't actually expected behavior. Since all of the issues you're experiencing appear to be software related, here are some steps you can do to resolve it:

    1. Close out of all of your open apps. Here's an article that shows you how: Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
    2. Power your iPhone off and then back on using the steps in this article: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    3. Test out your iPhone.

If you're still experiencing the same issues, follow these steps next:

    1. Open the Settings app and select General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won't erase any of your data on your iPhone but will reset settings and preferences back to default for things such as Wi-Fi, Notifications, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb, Brightness & Wallpaper, Sounds, etc.
    2. Test out your iPhone again.

If the issues are still not resolved, backing up your iPhone and restoring it as new would be the next best step. Restoring as new not only helps to isolate the issues, but also can resolve the issues as well. Use the steps in the articles below to back up to iTunes, import your photos/videos to a computer, and restore your iPhone as new. After your iPhone is restored, test it out again before restoring from a backup.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod

Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Take care!
