Q: iTunes Banner on Wordpress

Hey there everyone. I'm kind of new to this so please bare with me. I have a free wordpress website that is used to post blogs and news. I also have a iTunes podcast. I created a new page on my wordpress called "Podcast" and its in my top menu bar on the wordpress. I used the Apple iTunes Banner Builder to generate code. I made a 300x250 "badge" with the blur background. I copied the code it generated and pasted it on the HTML part in the page editor. However whenever I preview or even publish then take a look, the code doesn't work properly at all. Sometimes the preview will show some random snippets of code but that's it. I've tried both the iFrame and JS Embed codes and neither work. Do I need to have a paid wordpress account for this to work?  Is there something else I need to do with the Apple generated code? I'm lost and frustrated on how to get this to work on my wordpress so that people can subscribe or go to the itunes page for the podcast right in my wordpress. Please help!

I don't know anything about the 'banner builder' nor about Wordpress, but it sounds as if it's designed to put an image, possibly a changing one, on your Wordpress web page. This has nothing to do with your podcast feed. In order to have your podcast on iTunes you have to generate an acceptable feed and submit that to iTunes.

I can't be more specific unless you care to post the URL of your feed and, if you've got that far, your iTunes Store page. (Please always post these when you have a question.)  In the meantime, you may find it helpful to read my 'get you started' page on podcasting:

I Already have the podcast on iTunes, I've had no problems there. This is the banner builder that Apple provides so that you can share a nice looking "On iTunes" badge with your podcast art. The premise is you should be able to put this code on your website or blog to display the badge or banner. Clicking on it takes you directly to your podcasts page in iTunes. This Apple banner builder tool is at:  https://banners.itunes.apple.com

I doubt I can help you. It sounds like some sort of issue between the banner builder and Wordpress; it's not a podcasting problem as such. If you post the URL of your web page I can look at the result and see if anything comes to mind; but if Wordpress is applying some sort of restriction to what you can do (which free online site builders sometimes do) I can't advise on that. A forum dealing with Wordpress would be more likely to produce helpful advice.

Update: I tried putting the code (which is  script rather than plain html) for my podcast on a test page and it worked OK, though oddly showed two images side by side. In order to use this you have to paste the code into the html for the page, not into the page itself - I don't know if that's what you've been doing. It's quite possible that the free version of Wordpress doesn't allow you access to the html, or if it does it may limit your use of scripts.
