Q: Slow after boot, problems with spotlight, mdworker?
Hi
I have a iMac 27" with 3.4GHz Core i5 and 24GB of ram.
On boot the system is really slow and unresponsive. Launching a simple text editor or Chrome can take a long time. Also the Spotlight is really slow to produce any results if I type something. This gets better after 15 minutes - the system is still relatively sluggish (slower than an iMac I have at work) but doesn't bother me so much.
Tested permissions, Hard Disk Integrity, Hard disk read/write speed, did some cleanup of running applications but no joy.
The only thing I can see that bothers me about the logs is A LOT of this messages:

Also for all the applications. After this the errors stop and do not repeat throughout the usage until next reboot. Any Ideas how to fight this?
