Q: OS X Server VPP

Hi all,

We purchased two copies of OS X Server through VPP so that we could administer them through Casper and deploy the app to the machines that we wanted (without having to worry about Apple ID's).  This worked great initially, both systems were on 10.11.3 and had OS X Server 5.0.15 deployed to them.  I then upgraded both systems to 10.11.5 and then found out that Server wouldn't run on either of them until it was updated.  That was a bit shortsighted of me to not check that first but it's done now.  The problem is that even though Casper sees the updated app in the App Store if I try to upgrade either of them they fail with the message "OS X Server failed to download. Use the Purchases page to try again".

I have tried removing the Server.app on one and installing again but it fails with the same message.

I do have a call open with Casper but to be honest I'm not sure whether this is a Casper or App Store issue.  Has anyone else had a similar problem?  Right now I have two dead servers, luckily they weren't live but I need this sorted asap.  Short of saying goodbye to using VPP and creating a new apple ID and buying Server again I am a bit stuck.

Many thanks for any advice!

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)

We do have problems with VPP licensed Apps from the app store.

This is the first message I could find about this problem.

We are trying to install Mac OS Apps via Casper and receive the same error.. "... Failed to download ...."

Installing an app from the Customer App Store works fine but the VPP assigned don't!

Apple needs to fix/address this as Business is failing now... (We need to install Final Cut Pro...)

    Any insights is appreciated.

    Regards

I have a call open with Jamf Nation at the moment as I was not sure whether this was Casper or Apple related issue.  After some testing it does seem to be Apple related and Jamf are seeing issues too.  Just this morning I tried OneDrive as it was a free app but again the same message appeared.  If I learn anymore I will post back.

    Ok,

Ticket @Apple did not bring me any good.

Apple states that everything is working on their side so the problem should be on the Casper Suite side..

So I just opened a case @JAMF and will see where we will end.

I've contacted Apple just this morning to give credit to the incident number listed here: https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/discussion.html?id=20415 - Apple told me that they were still working with JAMF as of this morning, just waiting for an update.  Fingers crossed we'll get somewhere soon!
