After I updated Garageband to the latest version, I lost the most part of instruments. Projects using, for example, 'Harpsichord' still open and play fine in Garageband 10.1.2
But new projects in 10.1.1 don't have that instrument available. I tried to download Essential Sounds, All Available Sounds and Reinstall Sound Library with no results. Thanks for any advice.

GarageBand does not have a Harpsichord instrument by default. There had been an Orchestra Harpsichord installed by the Jam Pack 1, and Logic added a few Harpsichords.
Did you previously have Jam Packs installed?
How did you update to Garageband 10.1.2? Did you uninstall GarageBand '11? If you uninstalled any older GarageBand version before upgrading to GarageBand 10.1.2, you may need to reinstall any JamPack you used, or older instruments from GarageBand '11.
The Harpsichord instruments will be showing in the Legacy section of your Instrument Library, if they are still installed.

I have never installed any Jam Pack before, but on my previous GarageBand version I could use a lot of instruments that now are missing. (i.e. individual violin, a lot of pianos, indian sitar and many many more).
I updated through the App Store, without uninstalling the previous version.
How can I find the legacy section? This is how my library looks like after updating.

Mainstage 2 and 3 are installing all instruments from the Jam Packs. That is how I installed the JamPAcks in my library.
Which version of MainStage do you have?
You could try to update MainStage to the latest version and to reinstall the additional content of MainStage.
In MainStage 3:
Mainstage > Sound Library > Open Sound Library
Then check, if the instruments you want to use are installed.
