Switching text message to imessage

hi,

i'm having trouble switching back from text message to imessage.

I really do hope that this will have an easy way or apply make an easy way.

First. we are using wifi to use imessage in the evening. and SMS message during daytime since we don't have wifi connection in the office.

sometimes in the morning, it does not register as imessage that's why i double tap it to send as sms. however, when 2 SMS in a row, it does automatically switch to SMS.

The problem is, when we arrive at home, it does not automatically SWITCH BACK TO IMESSAGE from SMS.

I've tried calling her on facetime yet after facetime, still it does not switch back to imessage.

i hope there's a solution to this or apple will make an option to send as sms or send as imessage so that we can choose.

As iMessage works over both WiFi and cellular data, I'm not sure I understand exactly what your problem is. Do you have cellular data enabled? Also, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and make sure both your Apple ID and your mobile number are ticked.

I can't enable my cellular data since cellular data in our country is a bit expensive that's why we are dependent on the WiFi at home. That's why we are only using SMS when we are not at home.

The problem here is that, after a day of using SMS, and when we arrived at home and then connected to WiFi, the iphone does not automatically send it as an Imessage to the other phone.

what grinds my gears is that,

when I AM NOT CONNECTED to WIFI, and when i type a message, it DOES TURN TO BLUE. (imessage)

but when we are CONNECTED TO WIFI, it always send as SMS. i just don't get the logic on how does iphone switch SMS to IMESSAGE out of nowhere when NOT CONNECTED to WIFI but remains SMS when connected to WIFI.

I thought that it detects that the mobile it is sending a message was also an iphone that's why it turns to blue (imessage).

but even after having facetime and when i send a message right after, it still does not switch to imessage.

iMessage appears to be designed to work with a constant data connection. Would it be nice if it handled an intermittent connection better, yes. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to. Based on everything I've seen and read, your set up is never going to work as smoothly as you'd like. Turn it off and use SMS.

Then you're better off not using iMessage at all and just using SMS. iMessage doesn't work well in your situation.
