I have tried restarting, I have tried deleted the app and reinstalled but still get this error message....
Similar threads have found that a re-install of FX Factory to be the fix, but I don't think that is the case here.

Have you trashed your preferences?
To rule out the library or the media as the possible cause, hold down the Option and Cmd keys when you launch.That will give you the optn of deleting your preferences (yes) and will open a new empty library.

Holding down the alt/option key with the command key didn't seem to do anything. Each time I try to launch I get one of these errors...
is there another way of deleting my preferences?
Hold Opt-Cmd through the launch process. Wait till you get the trash preferences dialog, which you don't seem to be getting to.
You can also use Preference Manager from Digital Rebellion.
If you didn't get this dialog, it is very unusual behavior.
You guys are life-savers! I help opt-cmd down for as long as possible and hey-ho up popped the preferences dialogue. deleted preferences and I'm back in the game!
