Q: Airdrop not working...

So since I've bought my Macbook pro 13 (2015) and my iPhone 6S I've always had problems with airdrop. It just wasn't working! I have tried all the solutions I found on google and here on apple discussions and nothing seems to work! Continuity works great, but when I want to share something via airdrop between my mac and iphone, they just don't find each other. I have bluetooth on, they are connected on the same wifi, I have newest updates on both mac and iphone. Some time ago, I've tried it and it worked, but just for like a day. I have tried switching wifi routers and it doesn't work even on one or another. I don't know what to do. Any help? Thanks

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.2

    Hello Vlado.n,

Thanks for asking your question here in the Apple Support Communities. I understand how important it is to have AirDrop work between the Mac and your iPhone. Since we know Continuity is working properly, we want to check the settings specific to AirDrop.

This article will go through all the troubleshooting steps to ensure AirDrop is working between the two devices: Use AirDrop to send content from your Mac

The key to make this work is to ensure you do not have any third party virus protection or firewalls on. If you disable them, then you will need to restart your Mac to test it again. Also, ensure the settings are correct on both devices, such as sharing with contacts or not. If this setting is on, it may be best to turn it off and try again. Be sure that the discoverable by settings are correct.

Thanks again for bringing up your question here in the Apple Support Communities. Have a great day.

Ever since Apple released the new IOS and Mac OS X Yosemite, AirDrop is just simply horrible. I can get it to work if I restart my iPhone. Also, make sure your AirDrop is set to "Share with everyone." Try that, I hope it works for you!

I was facing the same issue with airdrop, and now it works. Try this, go to Open Network Preferences and delete all networks whether wifi or iPhone USB or any other network, then press apply and restart the Mac. after that go to Open Network Preferences again then add wifi network by pressing  + then from interface drop menu chose wifi and leave the name as it is then press create. After that press turn wifi on before clicking apply, you will get a confirmation message press apply and thats all. note that you will need to do this every time you use internet form your iPhone. I hope this works with you too.
