Hard drive not showing up on Macbook Pro 13" (2016)

I have a hard drive from a few years ago that has barley been used and is still in great condition. It's a 1iomega eGo, black and slim with a silver edge (trying to be descriptive for specific help). With it, I have a double USB cable with a mini usb on the other end to plug into the hard drive. I have a Macbook Pro 15" 2013 at home and the hard drive works perfectly on that. I brought it into work and it shows up on the big iMac as well as my co-workers Macbook Pro 15" 2012, but it does not work on my Macbook Pro 13" 2016

I have opened Disk Utility and it doesn't show up there. I have opened System Information (profiler) and it does not show up. It does not show up in my finder or on my desk top.

It's not my USB port because I use that often as this is my work computer. It is not my cord because it works on other computers. It is not my hard drive because it works on other computers as well. (I have tried these other computers within the same 5 minutes I tried it on my 2016 Macbook).

I hear the hard drive spinning so I know it's working just fine. I am using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5

From what I have gathered online is that I need to mount it onto my computer but since it does not show up in any of my software programs on my computer (disk utility, system information, finder, desktop, etc.) I am unsure of how to mount it. It doesn't make sense to mount it on another computer if it works on that computer... because it would already be mounted (? correct me if I'm wrong).

This hard drive has footage from my family's trip the the Mediterranean so I'd like to avoid formatting the hard drive and erasing everything on it until I get home later tonight so I am able to move all the footage.

Sorry for the mass amount of information, I just wanted to be descriptive so I could get the best help possible.

(I also work at a production company and we work with hard drives and computers and the few co-workers I have asked for help have not been able to figure it out).

Trying to get it on this computer because it is my only computer with Adobe Premiere Pro which is what I would like to use to edit this footage with.

Thanks!!

Hi court,

Is it possible for you to import your photos onto another computer, and then transfer them to your laptop?

That would make the photos accessible, however it doesn't solve the current issue of it not being detected by your laptop. What OS are the other computers running? Since it's an older hard drive from a more obscure company, it may not be compatible with MacOS Yosemite.

Thus, if it does not show there is will not show up in Finder.

You do have Finder/Preferences set up to show the drive either in the Sidebar and/or Desktop?

See mount section.
