AirPrint/Bonjour quitting
The problem:
In order to print wirelessly to my HP D110a printer from an iPhone or iPad (IOS 9.3.2), I must go into the embedded HP software, disable Bonjour and then re-enable it. After being enabled, AirPrint sees the printer, the Print button is active and I can print one job. After that job, the Print button grays out and the printer page reads "No AirPrint Printers Found".
Also after being enabled, the Print button stays active for about three minutes and then grays out and the "No AirPrint Printers Found" message returns.
Equipment:
- Arris TG1672 Modem/Router Combo (Router disabled)
- Linksys EA3500 Dual-Band 2.5/5Ghz Router, DHCP Auto
- Printer is connected to a Linksys RE6500 Range Extender
- HP D110a Printer
- All firmware is up to date
Other circumstances:
- My MacMini 2012 OSX 10.11.5 El Capitan always sees the Router and Range Extender in Bonjour, and it sees the D110a printer when it is freshly enabled. Then it disappears from Bonjour just like it does from IOS.
- The D110a was previously set up on the network with Internet Printing Protocol and printed reliably from the MacMini, iPhone and iPad.
- Since updating the iPhone and iPad to IOS 9 I don't have the option of IPP on those devices - only AirPrint.
- There is conflicting information as to whether or not the D110a supports AirPrint. It obviously supports Bonjour, and works with AirPrint (for three minutes at a time!).
I attempted to set up a static IP address, and it appeared to work in the printer software. However, when setting it up in the router, the router software wouldn't accept the Gateway address, which I assume is the address of the router. Regardless, my question is: Is there any reason to believe that a static IP would help the situation?
Thanks...
