Jun 28, 2016 1:01 PM in response to rkaufmann87by lensbaby,Thanks, but following the steps did not help. I forgot to say that the only way I can hear the chime is to unplug the computer and than reinsert the plug, After I do that I hear part of the chime but the computer shuts down immediately.
Thanks.

Jun 28, 2016 1:10 PM in response to lensbabyby rkaufmann87,★HelpfulYou may have a hardware issue, if the steps don't work then your only course is to take it to an AASP in your area. Due to the computers age and Apple Store will not work on it, however an AASP will. If you don't know of any in your area, click the link below to begin finding one:

Good luck!

Jun 28, 2016 1:20 PM in response to lensbabyby bradley.bacon,I would suggest attempting to reset the VRAM first. After pressing power, hold down CMD+Option+P+R and listen for the third chime, then release.
If there is no change, attempt booting in recovery mode. After pressing power, hold down "R".
If this is unsuccessful, you may have an issue with your power supply or another part of your computer, and bringing it into the store to run some tests may be the best way to diagnose the issue.
