Q: Why are multiple windows opening in both QTX and QT7 Pro?

Happening on multiple machines, with multiple OS (Mavericks Yosemite and ElCap...)

Someone in Cupertino has decided that, for worse (there's no better here), when I open either flavor of QT, I get a selection of movies I've previously opened.

For instance, I'll either drag a movie icon, or double click it, to open it in QTX...and in addition to the movie I want to review, I'll get the last 2 or 3 movies I've previously opened. There are, apparently, no preferences in QTX to change this behavior.

I've observed similar behavior with QT7 Pro...I drag an icon onto the QT7 icon, and not only does my movie open...several others I've previously watched open as well.

You can file this under "a minor irritating problem which I wish I could fix, just because it's not how I want the World's Smartest OS To Work".

Any ideas or suggestions?

And a follow-up post, full of irritating behavior:

-Animation codec movies no longer open in "quick view" (you know, when you slap the spacebar and the  file opens for a quick look)

-Animation codec movies need to "convert" in QTX. They play just fine in QT7, so how is QTX an "improvement" here?

    I'm sure there's more.
