iBook iPad footnote issue

Hello everyone,

I've been creating ePub books for multiple media including the iPad for a while. These books contain images with captions using the <aside> tags.

A couple of days ago, I noticed that ONLY on the iPad (9.3., the captions appear always on the left hand page, and never over the button that includes the noteref call.

Does anyone else have that issue? And if so has anyone got a solution to this? It's driving me and my client up the wall.
