Upload exiting music to iTunes match

I Purchased iTunes Match from my Mac, but my iPad has the most music on it ( music I've downloaded from old cd's). When I try to turn on iTunes Match on my iPad it warns me that if I enable Itunes Match all my music will be replace all the music on this device. Will it upload my existing music from the iPad, before it replaces the entire library? Silly me I should of purchased iTunes Match from the iPad not the Mac to begin with but too late now. I really don't want to lose all of my existing music on my iPad, it is the most current library I have as my old pc crashed.

iPad 2, iOS 9.3.2, null

iTunes Match does not upload music from iOS devices. Only from the iTunes library on a computer. Purchasing iTunes match from the iPad would have made no difference.

Use iTunes Match on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If the music on the iPad is not on the computer (it should be, as cd music must have been synced from a computer to the iPad) then you'll need to to extract it from the iPad onto the computer so it can be uploaded to iTunes Match.

Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device

It is strongly recommended that the iPad never be the only place your Music resides. Your iTunes Library on your computer should always be the master library and contain everything, and be backed up.
