replies to discussions by email not showing Each email I get from this forum has the text: You can respond to Calgary Guru by replying to this email, or go to the discussion in Communities.   I haven't seen replies I've sent post.   Are there guidelines around this? Have others had reply by email work on this discussions site lately?

There is no way to directly email anyone; the forums are not set up to allow private messaging. You simply post the reply in the thread/discussion you are participating in.

In your two sreenshots directly above you should get the top one. Have you ever received the info from both screenshots on one email notification ?  This Forum has a number of glitches, one of them is to format a email notification in the style of an earlier Forum. I think you found one.

You are the Original Poster in your screenshot - thus the Big Buttons for marking awards

AlohaBob is right about the email being in the form of earlier incarnation of the forum software = a glitch that happens to us all on rare occasions

You "sometimes" can take advantage of the forum glitches to circumvent the Apple disable of email reply to forum posts = do NOT count on it

Here's what make me suspicious. I received the email notification below January 29, 2016. It's in the style of the previous Format or possibly the basic Jive style without the Apple overlay. Without much greater computer skills it's impossible to know for sure.

I'm not sure I understand your point. I received a number of them over a two day period. I only needed to take a screenshot of one of them.

Please clarify your two screenshots above. Do you receive the two messages on the same email notification. If so can you include a screenshot. Thank you.

Often, no response is Apple's way of saying "NO" -

I failed to mention that I (and so has Bob) have actually posted a reply to a thread via reply to email in the past. The fact that the feature does not persist in succeeding is proof that Apple has it disabled.

JiveSoftware Communites = one IS able to reply to a thread via email email reply (ASC runs on  Jive) = further proof Apple disables.

There is only ONE screenshot... methinks you are thinking the bottom part where the award buttons AND the statement "you can respond to ChitlinsCC by replying to this email or by ..." is a separate email - it is just "out of character" because of the colors and boxes/buttons

Thanks for the clarification that it is only one email. What threw me off is there is no link in the upper box if you are not the OP.
