Jun 28, 2016 8:32 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby Appleboy45,Thanks for the info. On the first one, I clicked submit, it looked like it didn't submit it. So I tried it again and it worked. But when I lookd back. It posted both of them. Some glitch I guess.

Jul 1, 2016 1:29 AM in response to Appleboy45by K Shaffer,The computer shipped with two grey label original install-restore DVDs with a version of
Tiger 10.4 (depending on date of manufacture, one of two version numbers existed) and
the iLife applications were included for the system; everything was in the software kit.
Mine included two DVDs (single layer) Tiger OS X 10.4.2 (8D37) grey label system discs...
This also has all of the included applications and a few games, per retail status as shipped.

To upgrade past Tiger 10.4.11, given the need to purchase a retail OS X 10.5 Leopard DVD
and also an iLife and perhaps iWorks; or locate items of interest, or whatever. Those may
still be found online for sale through resellers. For mine I found 10.5.8 did not like the last
iLife version that could run on it, a slightly earlier was better with good features.
On rare occasion, you could pull software off misc install discs without using the official installers.
The method works OK if you know the workaround process and do it correctly. Otherwise, not.
{Pacifist utility - Charlessoft: https://www.charlessoft.com/pacifist_olderversions.html With this,
you can look into old discs and experiment; within limits of original software/hardware spec.
Helpful ^ in a few situations to restore bits that may have been trashed, without having to run
the entire installer; or you could install part of a bundled software package, aside from OS.}
Hopefully you can locate the correct discs for upgrade match set; 10.5.8 OS X, with iWorks,
iLife, and other items. Sometimes you may find the retail bundle of all three together, online.
In any event...
Good luck & happy computing!

Jul 3, 2016 11:44 PM in response to Appleboy45by K Shaffer,The 'bundled software' is that which was included and running in the device when new.
So the list given above would be on the install DVD set of two discs. The first disc is
where the OS X and Classic along with main system applications; second one extras.
{If you have the install disc version that shipped with the iBook G4 Mid 2005, it's possible
to look into there with Pacifist to see what packages are available that would load - if you
were to run the setup and install contents normally - without having to do so. Just don't
boot from the install disc. Pacifist can be used to look into files, to see (& get) contents.}
So perhaps whatever you have in mind, may be able to work. If you have an external
FireWire400/800 HD enclosure w/ Oxford-type chipset, then it would be able to boot an
OS X volume; the external drive enclosure should have its own power supply. Then
the iBook could boot and run 10.4.11 (with classic support) & alternately, 10.5.8. That,
if the internal hard drive is too small capacity for second partition to install both OS X.
Hopefully that works out.
Good luck & happy computing!
