Q: Iphone touch screen lagging / temporarily stop working

Hi All, hoping someone has experienced this before and can help me out with a solution.

For the last 7 days now my phone has been intermittently playing up. Sometimes the touch screen stops working altogether and sometimes it just doesnt respond then seems to do everything at once about 10-15 seconds later.

My nearest genius bar is quite far away and as the problem is intermittant i dont want to have to keep going hoping that its happening when im there.

    Hi lavster,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities. It looks like you are having some issues with your iPhone 6 touchscreen becoming unresponsive at times and other times just a bit laggy. I have an iPhone as well and I depend on being able to use it as needed. I will be happy to help provide some information for you.

I found a resource article that has some good troubleshooting steps for your issue.

If the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn‘t respond to touch

    Specifically this section:

    Check your touchscreen

Make sure that your hands are clean and dry, then try these steps:
If you have a case or screen protector on your device, try removing it.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
    Unplug your device.
Restart your device. If you can't restart it, you can force restart your device.
If your touchscreen still doesn't respond like it should, contact Apple Support or take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.

If you haven't already, you will want to create a backup of the iPhone in either iTunes or iCloud. Here is an article that goes over that as well:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

    Cheers!
