Q: Podcasts will not Subscribe

For some reason now all my podcast will not subscribe on iTunes, no matter how many times I click the "Subscribe" button.


On my iPhone 6s they are subscribed.

 

You can see screenshots form the iPhone and Mac for the same Podcast.

I've had this issue for a while but can't seem too find a simple solution and I'm guessing it's to do with the sync of my iCloud account - any ideas and advice would be great.

    Hi AdrianFleming, 

     

    Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I can see that you are able to subscribe to a specific podcast on your iPhone. However, if you try to subscribe to the same podcast in iTunes on the Mac, it won't let you subscribe. Thank you for the screenshots, those were great. I can see how this is important to you. I will be happy to provide some information for you. 


    If you haven't already, please quit the iTunes app on the Mac and then restart the Mac. Once the Mac has booted back up, please hold the left Shift key down while you click to launch iTunes. Then see if you are able to subscribe to the podcast. It would also be good to Get the latest version of iTunes, if needed.

    Thanks for your help jameson.h.

     

    I'll have to wait and see if things update automatically as new episodes are posted but the podcast still look like they are unsubscribed in the iTunes Store, however looking at the "Podcast Settings" tab it says it's Subscribed. 

     

    Let's hope it's all sorted now though.
