Apple Pencil Rubber Tip

Hi

I really love the Apple Pencil that is used with the iPad Pro for sketching or drawing. My question has to do more with the tip of the Apple Pencil, which at times is kind of awkward when I sketch. I find that it's too slick on the iPad's glass top. Guess I'm looking for something with a little more traction. Does Apple make a rubberized tip or is there a third party that sells one? Thank you. -Kd

(I posted this earlier today, but I don't know if it went up. I couldn't find it anywhere).

I just received a cover tip designed to protect the pencil and it barely works with the tip on, obviously wasn’t designed to be used this way but wow do I love the grip and traction it provides!! You can look up nib cover on amazon to get an idea. I really hope someone makes a thinner version that would work better or a nib from this sort of rubbery material!User uploaded file

Ditto, Ditto, Ditto. I'm surprised Apple engineers didn't have the same experience and said, "Gee, we need to have different tips for different people." Amazing how the smartest company on earth can sometimes be unaware of their imperfections. First, my hunch was a matte anti-glare protector would do the trick but I just bought a gloss one. It was always my impression that the matte screens dulled the colors and resolution.

Then I search Amazon and the rest of that tiny retail world for some tips that might work. No luck. So I took a green rubber band (courtesy of Whole Foods) and stretched it from tip to base, secured it with scotch tape, and then trimmed it so only the top inch had the remnants of the rubber band. Can you imagine the stretch of the band over a point made the color disappear and the thickness go way done? So much so that the point works just fine and gives just the right amount of traction. This point will work just fine with a super light layer of materials over it. I bet there are dozens of materials in one's home that would work. Admittedly, this is not an elegant solution for an elegant product and I will keep searching for the right solution...or get the matte screen protector or (drum roll) get PaperLight

To remedy this issue, I bought an anti-glare screen protector from Amazon, and it has made a tremendous difference for drawing/sketching and note-taking with the Apple Pencil. They are cheap, might be worth a try for you. I bought the iCarez HD Anti Glare model.

Like you I really like the Apple pencil and find it very useful. Other than Apple's replacement tips I doubt if there are any third party replacement ones available. I'm assuming you have read the Apple guidance on the pencil?

Yes, of course I read the Apple guidance, now that you posted it. Thanx for your response. (Wish there was a trick to giving the tip a little traction)

The tip encases and protects some fairly delicate electro-mechanical parts. I rather doubt that a rubber tip will ever be available, although perhaps different plastic formulations are possible?
