Q: Does Facetime and (viber, whatsapp,......) work on (wifi only) ipad device???

I Want to buy a wifi only ipad pro. And i'm not sure if facetime and viber whatsapp Tango would work without Sim, using only wifi.

 

SO does facetime and viber ....., work without a sim??

i need ur help guys.

Facetime certainly works over wifi or cellular (if a cellular service provider supports that) with any iPad or iPhone or Mac computer.

 

Any internet messaging or VOIP service should work on a wifi only iPad - if the service provider makes an iOS app and supports it.  SMS/MMS texts cannot be sent or received natively from a wifi only iPad since it cannot connect to a cellular service's voice network.  If you have an iPhone, you can use continuity to share its SMS/MMS functions with an iPad - Use Continuity to connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac - Apple Support

    FaceTime certainly works on a Wi-FI only iPad.  I have used it.

     

    The others very likely work as well, but I have not personally tested them.  Apps that are iPad suitable in the iOS App Store do not rely on any cellular connection (unless stated otherwise - and I am not aware of even one app that requires a cellular connection for iPad).

     

    Skype is another app that I know runs on a Wi-Fi only iPad.
