Q: <edited by host>

In one of my posts I see this tag and my post has been edited.

IS Apple playing the moderators here? My post did not even have anything worth censoring!

has it happened with anyone else?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.1

These forums are hosted and moderated by Apple, posts will be edited (or potentially removed) if they don't stick to the forum's terms of use. As I don't know what you originally posted I have no idea what was removed, but common reasons are including (or requesting) personal info (email addresses etc), speculation or commenting on Apple's policies, flames etc., links are also sometimes removed

Read King Penguins answer carefully. If none of the items he mentioned apply give  us a clue what else you said. Just a clue, I don't want you to be edited a second time.

Apple employees do moderate here. And by moderate I mean remove spam, edit out info in posts that shouldn't be there, such as personal info, personal e-mail addresses, times when people post thier serial number for their device, etc.

They also edit out posts if things get a bit too heated or inappropriate. (People can and do get into arguments here about what to do or whether or not someone's suggestion is a good one, maybe not as much in the iPad area but certainly in other parts of the forum)

There are also things listed in that TOU such as asking for polls or trying to start some sort of campaign that can get a post edited.

has it happened with anyone else?

Yes, it happens daily. And yes, since the site is owned and hosted by Apple, they are free to edit or delete anything (see the last sentence in the ToU).

Quite often, it is simply because someone inadvertently included some private information which will be removed for your own safety. If you had posted something that violated the ToU, you would also get an email from the Apple hosts explaining the violation - so, as long as you didn't get an email, it is simply for your safety, not censorship.

My post had something mentioning about a slight criticism of Apple's sale plans in India. That could be the reason for editing the Post. However, it was not something worth being edited!

I also did not get any email on why the post was edited. It was only when I randonly went back to the post that I saw it had been edited. Without any notifications and reasons this becomes highly arbitrary.

I'd say you got off easy. I'm pretty sure you violated  articule 2.1.2 of the ASC USe Agreement King Penguin posted above.

Speculating and commenting on Apples business practices are the two biggest no-nos.

      1. Speculations or rumors about unannounced products.
