How can i do with AEE files?

Hi there,

I think is the images that i edit in my iPad and then i put it in WINDOWS so they transform to become AAE.

After i copy to my iMac the format still stay AEE (i thought they will transform to images so i can see it again) but they are not.

Now i have many of AEE files in my HDD, how can i do with them?

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

Your iPad stores the phots in the Camera Roll as a pair of an .AEE file and the original image file.

when I import images from my iPad to my Mac with Image Capture and save them to a folder I am seeing an .AEE file as a sidecar file for each image that has a filter applied. When I import the image with the .AEE file to Photos for mac it will use this sidecar file apply the filter to the photo. For example:

User uploaded file

After importing IMG_1583 to Photos I can see in Photos the "Process" filter to be applied. If you open an .AEE file with a text editor, you can see that it contains XML code describing the effects.

I don't use Windows machines, so I have no idea, if there is software that can read and apply the .AEE files to your JPEGs. If an editor can read .AEE files, it should suffice the have the jpeg and the .AEE sidecar file in the same folder. The filenames of the .AEE file and the JPEG file should be the same, just the extension different.

If you don't have a photo editor that can read the AEE files, delete them. The jpegs you saved arethe originals, without any edits applied.

Its's true. But i don't know where is the other file (JPG). Because the moment i did transfer images (at the first place) i just collect all the JPG files. I leave them (AAE) stays cause i think i don't have a reason for collect it consider i cannot see it.

But when i want to cleaning my HDD i remember i have many AAE files. So you think i can use it in good way? Or i just erase it.

And how if i wanna use it?
