Q: Ical does not send invitations (to non Apple email)

I discovered my iCAL is not sending invitations to meetings etc. I tested with the tech support lady and she gets them at apple.com but my Yahoo test id is not getting them. I am assuming it goes through to apple addresses only. The issues happens when I create a meeting on my MacBook Air, my iphone,  or if I do it online through Icloud. I am not sure when this started but it has been a while.

 

I see that this problem has been reported all the way back to 2011 so I wanted to get in raised again. I spoke with the Apple Support person last week but they have not gotten back to me. I am retired and involved in a lot of activities so this is important to me.

 

Has anyone had this and fixed it? Thanks

I think I fixed it.  I just went to my CARD in iCloud and added my @icloud.com email address to my card.  I set it for the HOME category and have not checked to see if it works as OTHER but I am now sending invitations to my test accounts.

Woo Hoo.

    You said: "I am assuming it goes through to apple addresses only." I can verify that it an Apple address is not a requirement, and I would suspect a problem with your "Yahoo test id" setup.

     

    Perhaps, Calendar (El Capitan): If people aren’t receiving your invitations may be helpful for troubleshooting this issue.

    I am assuming that apple ids get invitations because I occasionally get an acceptance but I belong to a variety of boards and committees and have been told by each population that they did not receive my meeting invitations from ical.  Obviously, I can't keep sending them invitations and then asking the result so I used a yahoo test id instead.  I went through the steps on the link you provided but it did not change the issue. Plus, it also occurs when I create or change calendars in icloud. Thanks for trying.
